KALK – Swedish Design Awards 2018 winner

Off-road motorcycle KALK won the Industrial- & Product Design B2C category, when the Design S – Swedish Design Awards took place last week. KALK is an off-road motorcycle powered by electricity instead of petrol, reducing both emissions and noise, with a chassis of
aluminium and carbon fibre in a total weight of less than 70 kg.

Jury Statement: A very interesting product that breaks established patterns in its genre. Cake cleverly utilises the switch from fossil to
renewable fuels to leave what is visually predictable and create a whole new and elegant signature. A new era of technology
designed with great precision.

Congrats, Cushy! Design S winner 2018

The designer duo Gripner & Hägglund and their CUSHY won the furniture category in Design S – Swedish Design Awards 2018. The award ceremony took place yesterday at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm. Form Magazine’s editor-in-chief Bo Madestrand was a jury member of the furniture category. Congratulations Sanna Gripner and Märta Hägglund!

Who’s tooth? Houndstooth!

Josefine Gennert Jakobsson, Form Magazine’s current guestagrammer @formmagazine just graduated from the Swedish School of Textiles. Her degree project is called Who’s tooth? Houndstooth! and it uses houndstooth pattern to generate form and surface with a cut-and-weave method.
