International PechaKucha Night 2015


Everyone was there. 1.000 persons came to our big PechaKucha evening under the chandeliers at Berns on February 3, drank Heineken beer and listened to an appealing list of speakers.
The Indian ambassador spoke of design in Dehli, the CEO of Falu Rödfärg told us about a house on the moon, the design professor Mathilda Tham on curiosity and change, the Finnish and Icelandic curators of We Live Here on moving together in a flat in Stockholm, and Codesign architects on the spaces in between – full speakers list here. And it was, as always, moderated by Ewa Kumlin, CEO of Svensk Form and Form Magazine.

The stunning Icehotel is back

The Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, above the Polar Circle in Sweden – one of the world’s most circular hotels, since many of the rooms melt in the spring – is back with a slew of new suites, handsculpted in ice from the Torne river. Best in show 2017: Fay for Adea by Mia Cullin

2017 is coming to an end. What was best, most beautiful and clever this year? We asked designers and architects all over Scandinavia and got as many answers. Swedish designer Mia Cullin started designing chairs: “In 2017, I designed chairs for the first time, Fay for Adea and Sense for Materia. ArkDes was a highlight. I had never heard of the HI-group, and the Josef Frank exhibition showed several pieces of furniture I had never seen before. Norm Form really got me thinking.”
